Founded by Kyle Merkley on April 20, 2023, after 14 years at Arpix Media, SONGCHOPPER represents the next chapter in a career defined by music supervision, licensing, and soundtrack creation. Kyle’s work spans over a decade, with credits on acclaimed productions like The Lake (PRIME), Murdoch Mysteries (CBC), Hudson & Rex (CITYtv), The Office Movers (CRAVE), and Ruby & The Well (Family/BYU).

During his tenure at Arpix Media, Kyle contributed to numerous iconic shows, including Killjoys (Syfy), Wynonna Earp (Syfy), Heartland (CBC), and Flashpoint (CTV/CBS). His accomplishments include a Golden Reel Award Nomination for Best Sound Editing on Flashpoint and an Emmy Nomination for Music Direction on Ruby & The Well in collaboration with composers Robert Carli and Lora Bidner.

In addition to his work in music supervision, Kyle is an accomplished musician and songwriter. He has collaborated with top-24 Canadian Idol contestants, produced electronic music under various pseudonyms, and appeared on Entertainment Tonight: Canada and MuchMusic's disBAND.
